Katherine Viala is a full-time sophomore at Stanford OHS and her first year as a writer with OHS observer. In addition, her current roles as the Board Chair of Arts with the student government, a board member with the Girl Up club and PR with the Gay Straight Alliance provides her a platform to advocate, inform and empower OHS students. She has participated and been a member of numerous gifted programs such as Davidson Institute of Young Scholar and Mensa. As much as she loves intellectual challenges such as competing in Math and Science Olympiad and FLL robotics, she also found haven in expressing herself through different creative mediums such as writing. Being a beat reporter will facilitate her helping fellow driven peers find school resources leading to a fun and smooth learning transition from high school to higher education.
